I knew of Anna through her wedding and portrait photography and when I received her email asking me to shoot her family,I was excited to say the least. It is always an honor for me to be asked by another photographer to shoot their wedding or family. And what a beautiful family Anna has. As a Romanian myself, I always feel at home around other Europeans. In this case, Anna’s family is Polish. I loved hearing them speak in their native Polish language to their son Kuba (nickname for Jakob) and hearing him respond in both Polish and English perfectly. Made me wish Alin & I took more time to teach our kids Romanian.
Anyway, the Prochnicki’s allowed me into their normal everyday life which included cooking a homemade healthy breakfast, playing Mario & Rock Band, having fresh pressed coffee, playing with Kuba in his room, gardening, playing soccer in the backyard, playing board games, eating at their favorite burger place, walking through their favorite nature preserve and then ending it with a very tired little boy who just wanted to go to sleep.
Another favorite part of my day was being able to geek out about photography with Anna. We seem to share the same admiration and passion when photographing the love we observe between our couples and families. Anna’s family was no exception. The love was there. Nothing was forced. It was all truly who they were as a family. And I admired that.
I look forward to spending time with this family again soon and I know I have made new friends in them.
